Category: The abduction of Europe
This sculptural collection, in the form of the 4 elements of nature, is based on the Greek myth of “The abduction of Europa”, which gave rise to the name given to the European continent. In this myth, Zeus –the main god of Olympus –transforms himself into a beautiful bull in order to seduce and abduct the Phoenician princess Europa.
The pandemic and the subsequent lockdown were the main inspiration behind the creation of this work. Nevertheless, since the interpretation of art is in the eye of the beholder, many see in it the symbol of prosperity, since the bull represents optimism and growth in the world of finance, and the statute on Wall Street represents the same ideas. Aquesta col·lecció escultòrica, en forma dels 4 elements de la natura, es basa en el mite grec de “El rapte d’Europa”, que va donar origen al nom que rep el continent europeu. En aquest mite, Zeus -principal déu de l’Olimp- es transforma en un bou toro, per seduir i poder raptar la princesa fenícia Europa.
La principal inspiració a l’hora de crear aquesta obra, va sorgir fruit de la pandèmia i el confinament, ja que hem viscut situacions de rapte en molts aspectes: social, econòmic… (CAT)

Esta colección escultórica, en forma de los 4 elementos de la naturaleza, se basa en el mito griego de “El rapto de Europa”, que dio origen al nombre que recibe el continente europeo. En este mito, Zeus –principal dios del Olimpo- se transforma en un hermoso toro, para seducir y poder raptar a la princesa fenicia Europa.
La principal inspiración en el momento de crear esta obra, surgió fruto de la pandemia y el confinamiento, ya que hemos vivido situaciones de rapto en muchos aspectos: social, económico… (ESP)
